For 2009 Windborne Press is pleased to announce the arrival of Suzanne Roberts' Coping in New Territory - The Handbook for Children of Aging Parents, a valuable companion book to our current featured title:
A Turn for the Better! - What Every Alzheimer's Caregiver Needs to Know by Kim Hendrickson Leffler
The book focuses on Alzheimer's disease sufferers
and their caregivers, and offers tested, successful solutions to problems such as
Sundowning
Wandering
Depression
Anger
Insomnia, and
Withdrawal
which are
common complications of dementia.
Alzheimer's disease can be a devastating diagnosis, affecting the
entire family. Caregivers, who are usually the spouses of the afflicted
individuals, often are elderly, and have health issues of their own. Simple
fatigue can make it hard to get through each day, let alone to seek ways to make
things better. The good news is that steps can be taken to change
the environment, which improves the mood of
Alzheimer's sufferers, and in turn relieves much of the stress felt by
caregivers.
"A Turn for the Better! - What Every
Alzheimer's Caregiver Needs to Know" provides more than four dozen
solutions for common conditions, and offers hope for both Alzheimer's disease
sufferers and their caregivers. More information can be found on the Featured
